Part 1.
For my data set, I choose to use the “Births in Canada, 2006-2007” uploaded by cdeachman. I decided on this data set, because as I looked at cdeachman’s visualization, I felt that I could find a visualization that better represented the data. The original visualization its two different maps of Canada, with each province shaded a different colour, representing the amount of births in that province for that year. However, as I looked at the two maps for the two different years, they look identical. My visualization uses the Matrix Chart. It is similar to a bar graph, but it allows the viewer to see each province individually, and see the major differences between the years. My visualization also shows the actual number of births for each province.
