Part 2.
For my own data visualization, I decided to create my own data set. I wanted to visualize something that was not something that you could graph in Excel, or something so ordinary. I happened to be watching Fight Club this weekend, and decided that I wanted to somehow base my visualization around this movie. From playing with Many Eyes, I really came to like the visualization of the Wordle. I then decided I was going to use the script from Fight Club, and create a Wordle with the complete script. The Wordle visualization type seemed to fit this data because I find it very non-linear, much like the movie. The final visualization became very interesting. When I first analyzed the visualization, I noticed that there were two sets of names for each of the characters, one capitalized, and another not. I first changed all the words in the visualization to be all capitalized, but then I realized that in the script, the characters name that is in all caps, refers to that persons lines. The names that were not all capitalized were where the actor was referred to in the movie.
